Simon is from London and lives in Berlin where he designs productions in Germany, the UK and abroad. He studied Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art, London and the Academie Beeldende Kunsten, Maastricht.

Nevill Holt Opera, Northern Ireland Opera and Second Movement are new UK opera companies of whose foundation Simon has played an intrinsic part. He remains an Artistic Director of Second Movement, which now showcases new compositions at Rough for Opera.

At the 2013 inaugural International Opera Awards, Simon was nominated for the best Designer Award and many of the productions he has designed have won accolades.

Simon is currently designing Ariadne auf Naxos for the Israeli Opera and the Krakow Opera, Poland (set), Tosca for the Royal Opera House, London (set) and Titanic for Theater für Niedersachsen, Germany (set and costumes).
